Alipurduar District has taken a historic step towards empowering mothers by granting land rights to 14,000 tea garden worker families, impacting nearly 63,000 lives. In a groundbreaking state-first initiative, land titles are issued in the name of the mother of each family, accompanied by ₹1.5 lakhs in house-building financial aid. This transformative program is set to uplift and empower thousands of families, fostering stability and growth.
Once fully implemented, this visionary scheme will benefit over 3 lakh people, ushering in a new era of prosperity and progress for the district.

Dooars, Door to Himalayas : tourism film
The city where the Himalayas meet the planes, situated on the east bank of Kaliani River in the foothills of the Himalayas, the city is a gateway to Bhutan and the northeastern states of India. Formed in 2014, Alipurduar is the 20th district of West Bengal and indeed a beautiful one. Alipurduar got its name from Dooars, primarily forested, with numerous rivers flowing down from the outer ranges of the Himalayas in Bhutan has many beautiful locations open for tourists from around the globe. Alipurduar covered with the deciduous forest is home to tigers, rhinos elephants, and bison and is a primary exporter of tea around the world. Blessed with natural resources, cultures, and scenic beauty, Alipurduar's breathtaking destinations include Jaldapara National Park, Chilapata Forest, Tea Gardens, Phuntsholing, Buxa, Jayanti, Totopara, Garochira, Leopard Rescue center, Sikiajhora, Jaigaon, Lapchakha, Bishwakarma Jhora Biodiversity park, Poro Eco park, Makrapara Kali temple and many more.

This reportage documentary, presented by W.for.W Foundation in collaboration with Sansera Ideas@ Work and WODER, follows environmentalist and researcher Dr. Mansee Bal Bhargava as she journeys along the sacred waters of the Ganga at the historic Kumbh Mela. Through her lens and the people she interviews, we explore the spiritual, cultural, and ecological significance of India's rivers, delving into the ancient legacy of the Kumbh, the vital role of water in pilgrimage, and the urgent need for sustainable practices.
